The ollie is an absolute essential trick if you're planning on doing flip tricks or grinds/slides. In a sense it's an "introduction" to skateboarding tricks. Execution: 1. To set up, put the ball of your back foot on the tail and your front foot in the middle.2. Now crouch down then pop your back foot so the tail hits the ground.
3. Right as the tail is hitting the ground, you want to slide your front foot up to the nose and jump up so the board will follow.
4. This will level out the board so that it is horizontal.
5. Land straight. If you are ollieng off something, try to land with your feet on the bolts, to minimize the shock of landing.
6. Roll Away. Don't worry if you can't ollie yet - keep practicing and it will eventually click. Watch other skaters if you can and try to copy their motions and timing.
Tips:
- Make sure you're feet are directly under your upper body while you're in the air.
- Keep yourself lined up with the deck, and make sure you're not leaning any direction too much.
- Stay as centered as possible the entire time.
- ollie tricks
