Board Off
Description
Before you start to practice Board Off’s you need to be able to preform a high jump with a grab and One Footers. Like with all the tricks you need to have speed, it will give you air time and a softer landing.
//Toe Side Rail Take off for a normal high jump and make yourself as small as possible by pulling your knees up. Now you grab with your back hand the toe side rail and at the same time you take off both feet. It’s important that you take your board off as soon as possible, because than you will have more time to bring your board back on your feet again. As soon as you reached your highest point from the jump, you need to bring your feet back in the foot straps. Don’t forget to keep steering your kite during the jump, otherwise the landing will get not that comfortable.
//Board Flip This move is a progress of trail and error. You can practice it on the beach by flipping the board around. Make sure you flip the board to wards you, this will make it easier to catch the board. As soon as you catch the board, bring it back to your feet.
//Tail Take off for a normal high jump with a tail grab and take off your feet as soon as possible. Kick both legs to the front, bend them both a bit to keep balance. Let the board swing backwards until you reached your highest point. Now swing the board back to your feet and slide your front foot in first. Your front foot is in and now you can put your back foot in as a normal One Footer.
* If the board keeps slipping out your fingers you can add a little bit of (skateboard) grib tape, this will give you a better grib and feeling with the board.
